Ripples

When I discovered a we within me, the most difficult piece was finding our peace.
Finding our way in a world no longer ours. Entering the fray with all of our power.
Choice never enters the equation when you find yourself among the destruction
of a chaotic and inauthentic life, absent the tools needed to succeed and to thrive.

When I found the rest of us looking back at me in the mirror, she wore my face.
Occupying a space I didn’t know existed, a void of contentment or place,
yet still containing a vast reservoir of strength and a mission to embrace.

So many things came into play, an understanding I didn’t know was missing.
So many ripples across our days, conversations and revelations without end.
With the veil lifted, giving way to light and truth, our journey could finally begin.

What we found was mostly profound. Family and friends and coworkers leaned in.
Acquaintances and strangers were surprised, then curious and asked great questions.
Finding answers to queries not yet made proved an interesting take on finding our way.

Spreading out from that blossoming reality were impacts we could have never foreseen.
A friend we’ve known for decades sharing a startling realization of his own to be made.
People we will never meet finding a source of inspiration in our journey to simply be.
Organizations stuck in yesterday’s noise embracing this chance to change and evolve.

What comes next is hard to predict given the fact that our life just started to exist,
every moment until this one wasted pursuing an ignoble end that was never destined.
It’s exciting to imagine all those beautiful days stretching before us in a glorious blaze
of possibility and purpose, finding true love and accomplishing our wildest of dreams.

Ripples of potential across space and time spreading out gently with reason and rhyme.
